GREAT Harwood professional Farhan Adil led his side into the final of the Jennings Ramsbottom Cup with an impressive performance against Ribblesdale Wanderers yesterday.
He scored 68 and was backed up by a fine 56 from Daniel Cheesbrough as they secured a six wicket win. Wanderers had set a target of 192-9 with pro Shaheed Nawaz top scoring with 39.
They will meet Earby who finished off their semi final against Barnoldswick which resumed with the visitors on 73-3 after the Applegarth club had scored 221-6. Glyn Sedman took 5-42 as Barnoldswick were dismissed for 168 despite a fighting partnership between Khan (36) and David Scothern (25).
The final will be played at Clitheroe on August 19.
Great Harwood won a preview of that game when they met Earby in the league on Saturday. Paul Newton took 5-41 as the home club were restricted to 165 and Daniel Cheesbrough scored 64 with Cameron McKay on 46 not out as Harwood secured a six wicket win.
Cherry Tree professional Nareem Ashraf scored 105 not out as his side raced to 221-6 which was too much for Oswaldtwistle who clung on at 128-9 to deny the home side bonus points.
Jonathan Harvey was also in the runs for Baxenden scoring 115. Dave Usher chipped in with 69 as they set Padiham a total of 270-6. Liam Bones took 5-69 to secure victory with Andy Robinson scoring 57 for Padiham.
Read secured a run rate victory in their rain affected game at Ribblesdale Wanderers. Professional Akram Raza took 5-44 as Wanderers were restricted to 122. Read were on 112-5 when rain hit.
Whalley's Jason Smith smashed 50 in just 19 balls and professional Graham Knowles scored 55 in their total of 222-7. David O'Neill went on to take seven wickets for 31 runs as Edenfield were dismissed for 80.
Barnoldswick took the points in their rain hit game with Clitheroe. Ian Scothern scored 68 out of their total of 187-8 and Clitheroe were on 96-6 at the close of play.
Blackburn Northern professional Ata-ur-Rehman took 5-67 and scored 48 not out to give his side the points in their game against Settle which was also affected by the weather. Settle scored 142-7 with skipper Andew Davidson on 48 and Northern replied with 116-3.
