POETRY PLEASE: Christopher Morris with his award Chris laughs all the way to the final EIGHT-year-old Christopher Morris likes A Good Laugh - and so did poetry competition judges.
The Leigh Gilded Hollins County Primary pupil beat more than 2,500 entrants to become the youngest primary group finalist in the Wigan Poetry Competition.
Christopher's poem, A Good Laugh, put him into the final alongside Year 6 pupil Laura Miller.
"We are just so proud of what Christopher has achieved," said his proud parents. "We just couldn't believe it when we heard, the presentation evening was just brilliant. Thanks to teaching staff for all their help."
Soccer, Star Wars, martial arts and car fan Chris won a golden brown teddy bear for his verse to go with his judo red belt. A Good Laugh
Start with a twitch
A shudder and a shiver
Then make your mouth grin
Smile, then beam
Move to a titter
A giggle and a chuckle
Throw your head back
Laugh, guffaw and
SCREAM
