BLACKBURN MP Jack Straw has pledged to contact the couple whose baby son died at Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital days after being admitted.
Jake McGeough death has prompted a major inquiry involving Merseyside Police.
The hospital is conducting its own internal inquiry and parents Keira McGeough and Wayne Knight said they will take legal action if medical staff are found to be at fault.
Labour MP and Foreign Secretary Mr Straw said today he would assist in any way he could.
He said: "This is obviously a tragic case. I will be very happy to see the parents and discuss with them what I could do to help."
Keira, 23, and 30-year-old Wayne, of Leicester Road, Blackburn, have asked the hospital, which was criticised earlier this year in a report into the organ retention scandal, for full details of why their baby died on Sunday, July 8.
Wendy Natale, chief executive of the Liverpool Eastern Community Health Council, backed their calls for answers and Kieran O'Connor, of Farley's solicitors, Blackburn, acting on behalf of the couple, has written to health bosses demanding all correspondence into the tragedy. He said they have 21 days in which to reply.
