COMPUTER lines are to be installed in the homes of members of Lancashire Police Authority so they can access the internet.
The authority's website or intranet, an internal website, will hold details of members and police officers, agendas, minutes of meetings, documents and records of decisions taken by various committees.
Although the website would be installed alongside the main Lancashire County Council site, which is open to the public, access to the police authority site would be restricted to members and officers.
The cost of the scheme is unclear but would require the installation of ISDN lines into members' homes and training in the use of intranet, e-mail and internet.
