REGARDING your report "Cabinet lashed by the Lib-Dem Whipp" (LET, July 16) it is always interesting to hear the views of County Councillor David Whipp and his latest comments regarding the County Council's new Cabinet were particularly enlightening.
I would be the first person to back up Coun Whipp if he was fighting against an undemocratic system that denied him the opportunity to voice his opinions. But the fact is that he was offered a place on the Cabinet for himself or a member of his group.
He was given his chance to help shape the future of Lancashire for the better. Unfortunately, he has again left others to tackle the important decisions that affect the people of Lancashire while he stands sniping on the sidelines.
COUNTY COUNCILLOR HAZEL HARDING, leader, Lancashire County Council.
