OVER the past few weeks, we have seen a number of groups looking to resolve the recent disgusting events in Burnley. And the focus seems to be on areas of neglect, racial tension due to a lack of understanding of different cultures, and a small element from all sides who are determined to cause trouble and incite violence (both Asian and white).
The sad thing is none of the groups seems to be multi-racial, and the only areas given serious media attention are areas where money has been heavily invested in the past.
Surely, the way forward is to integrate these groups and show the racist elements in each community that they have no place in our communities.
And if the focus of these groups was to improve all of the deprived areas of our town, what a media impact this would have on local/national government bodies, and the minority who seem to look for any and every reason to cause trouble.
