THAT Romanian asylum-seeker artist, 51-year-old John Sarti, has found time to create some 300 collages during his 10 months in Nelson -- enough for him to stage an exhibition at the town's library -- is a tribute to both his imagination and industry.
After all, his output is clocking on for one work of art a day -- and all from materials that cost their virtually penniless creator nothing.
But, surely, all this stuff must belong to the so-called 'naive' school --- since what these collages are made out of is, we are told, rubbish AND junk mail.
After all, anyone who considers there is a distinction between the two must be, well, truly innocent.
