PAY bonuses of up to £600-a-head will go to council leisure staff in Burnley after they raced to a £44,000 profit in the year.
The baths and recreation centres team who agreed to take cuts in pay and conditions in order to win the leisure contract from private firm rivals, have reaped the benefit of their efforts in their profit-share scheme.
They will share 75 per cent of the year's surplus, scooping £33,762 in total.
The top pay-outs of £600 will go to all full-time employees with 100 per cent attendance records.
A report to councillors says the surplus resulted from tight management of the spending budget, in line with increased income of £55,144 above budget.
The department made the surplus despite spending £57,000 on improving the Future Fitness Suite at the Thompson Centre during the year.
Last year's staff bonus was even better, with staff collecting up to £744-a-head.
