ROVERS boss Graeme Souness today revealed Alan Mahon's tour of Germany could be over as the former Tranmere star struggles to shake off a double injury blow.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder has already missed both of Rovers' opening two games after being laid low by knee and Achilles injuries respectively.
And now Souness has admitted his new £1.5 million signing is unlikely to be involved again tomorrow when Rovers take on Plauen in the third and final leg of their 12-day tour in what used to be the former East Germany.
"I don't think Alan's got much chance for tomorrow which would be a blow to us because he hasn't had any action so far," said Souness.
"He trained and felt well the other day but then complained that he could start to feel it again.
"So we've got to be careful of that and not run the risk of making things worse."
