PETS of all shapes and sizes, ages and species are invited to attend the annual Weir Pet Show on Sunday.
It is the fifth time the show has been held at Julie Cunliffe's Old Clough Stables, off Burnley Road, and it will be the third time the event has been used as a fund-raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Leaflets for the event have been posted through letter boxes throughout the village and Julie is hoping for a good turn-out.
There are classes for everyone, and every pet, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice and unusual pets.
There are funny classes including cutest mixed breed dog, dog with the waggiest tail, brightest eyes and fancy dress.
The fund-raising has already received a £552 boost from a hobby horse jumping contest when youngsters who ride from the stables completed a course on hobby horses jumping over low fences.
Last year the event raised £350 for the charity and the most unusual pet to attend was a tarantula.
Julie said: "We have had pet goats, sheep, corn snakes and stick insects over the years.
"It is aimed at children and costs 50p to enter. There will also be a tombola, refreshments, face painting and many other games.
"We raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust because one of the girls who rides my ponies is a nine-year-old girl Nansi Pallavus, from Rawtenstall, who has cystic fibrosis."
Anyone wanting to know more about the pet show can contact Julie on 01706 878073 or turn up at the stables at 10.30am on Sunday.
