OF late there have been considerable numbers of articles in respect of cycle lanes. This has always been a bone of contention as genuine cyclists, of which there are few, think they are badly done to, yet increasing numbers seem to think they have the right to use the pavements to the danger of pedestrians. At some point cycle lanes and cyclists have to join the traffic. This is where the confusion arises as one tends to blame the other for its shortcomings.

Children on bikes are a menace and get away with murder. If they expect to have rights they should have to pay a fee when they buy a cycle or thereafter, like motorists, pay an annual fee. Motorists are victimised for trivialities. Cyclists who have little consideration for the public should also be brought to book.
