MORE than 80 Ribble Valley farmers hit by the devastating impact of the foot and mouth crisis have been given a guiding hand by a leading firm of chartered accountants.
The farmers, who have suffered following the foot and mouth culls in the area, attended a presentation on the financial implications following the outbreak and the options they face.
Mark Schofield, managing partner of Haworths Chartered Accountants which has offices in Accrington and Settle, said: "Farmers in the region face some critical decisions over the coming months and we have been doing our best to make sure that the individuals concerned have the information they need to make those decisions."
The presentation was held at the The Plough in Wigglesworth and explained how farmers will be affected both in terms of tax and investment.
