nI KNOW rules are rules but the two-stroke penalty for Ian Woosnam at the Open Golf Championships at the weekend for carrying one club too many seems ludicrous.
The error by his caddy, Myles Byrne, could have cost him the title and nearly half a million quid.
What does it matter how many clubs you drag about - you can only play with one at once?
Good of Woosie to forgive and forget though.
