ST HELENS Town face another long haul to County Durham after being drawn away to Northern League side, Brandon United in the FA Cup preliminary round to be played on Saturday, August 25.
There was better news in the Carlsberg FA Vase though with the club earning exemption until the second round round following their exploits in last season's competition when they reached the last 16.
Meanwhile, the build-up to new season continues.
A last-minute goal by John Morgan earned Town a 1-1 draw in their friendly with Nationwide League Stockport County.
Now they are focussing on their next friendly on Thursday, August 2 when neighbours Wigan Athletic come to Knowsley Road for a 7.30pm kick-off.
