RYAN Kidd could be out of action for six to eight weeks after picking up a knee injury in pre-season training. He is due to have a cartilage operation this week.
GRAHAM Alexander has also picked up an injury and is doubtful for the start of the season. Michael Jackson is suffering from a long term Achilles problem but should be fit for first team action.
BETTER news for Steve Basham who has pencilled in North End's reserves first match of the season at Port Vale on August 15.
NORTH End drew 1-1 with Carlisle United on Tuesday night with David Healy scoring. PNE play Everton at Deepdale on Saturday. Admission is £10 adults and £5 concessions.
The team play away to Hull City on Tuesday and at home to Middlesborough on Wednesday for Lee Cartwright's testimonial match (kick off 7.45pm).
