I COULDN'T believe my eyes when I saw pictures of a recent case of parking rage.
All drivers know how irritating it is trying to park in a busy town centre, and all about driving endlessly around streets and car parks to find that elusive spot.
But the film of a furious woman driver shunting a rival for a spot on a verge in the middle of a road into the busy carriageway was beyond belief.
She was obviously going to win the coveted space at any price - even at the cost of damage to both vehicles.
She had obviously had to wait for a car to back out of the gap so she could move in, but in the meantime, another woman driver moved in from the other side of the road.
Hence the tantrum. The 20 year old snapped and drove her Vauxhall nose to nose with the opposing Toyota and tried to push it our of the way. She then reversed and moved forward to knock the car out of the way.
This week, she was convicted of dangerous driving and will be sentenced next month.
Is it worth it?
The worst case of parking rage I've encountered was when a neighbour I was not fond of somehow got the bumper of his old Hillman Minx trapped behind the wheel arch of my, at the time, super duper company Datsun 240Z, when they were parked outside our houses! He'd obviously tried to drive off, ripped the arch and got stuck in it.
I wasn't a bit happy.
