COMPANY bosses today apologised to hundreds of homeowners after they were left without water for more than 10 hours.
Water supply company, United Utilities, today said everything was back to normal after four hundred homes in Mellor Brook, Blackburn, were affected by a loss of water when a team of electrical contractors drilled through a water main and a sewer pipe in Whalley Road.
The Swallow Hotel on the A59 at Samlesbury was one of a number of homes and businesses who were left without water when the supply was cut off about 4pm on Friday.
Householders who did not lose supply were also told to boil their water as a precautionary measure.
The supply was reconnected to the majority of homes by about 3am on Saturday.
