A SHELTER in Towneley Park, Burnley, was badly damaged in a midnight arson attack.
The roof of the open-sided shelter, on land between Towneley High School and Fulledge recreation area was destroyed.
Firefighter Liam Barker said: "The shelter which was well ablaze when we arrived shortly after midnight. It was like a big bonfire and caused severe damage to the roof."
They were at the scene for about 40 minutes. Police are investigating.
