THREE volunteers at the Barnardo's shop in Colne have managed to help the charity and themselves at the same time.
Charlotte Bailey, 23, Wendy Fryer, 35 and Amanda Broadhurst, 33, all of Colne, have completed NVQ training at the shop and will receive their certificates at a presentation evening at the Crown Hotel at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Charlotte, who has been a volunteer for six months, and Wendy, who has worked at the shop since 1992, have both completed Level Two of the Retail Operations NVQ. Amanda has passed the first unit.
Shop manager Gillian Holden said: "All our volunteers play such a vital role in helping us raise money to help give children the chance of a brighter future. So it's important that we are able to offer the training to help develop their skills and experience and even improve their job prospects."
