Accrington Stanley have taken three former Football League players on trial.
Midfielder Mike Quigley, who has played for Manchester City and Hull City, Russ Garaghty, from West Brom, and central defender Paul Howarth (Shrewsbury) are all currently training at the Crown Ground.
Chairman Eric Whalley said: "We saw Paul's name on the PFA list of out-of-contract players and noticed he was a local lad from Burnley, so we invited him down.
"He acquitted himself very well against Stalybridge on Saturday in what was a very good work-out."
All three are expected to figure in next week's pre-season clashes against Burnley (August 6) and Rochdale (August 7).
