POLICE have issued pictures of items included haul of valuable commemorative coins and spoons in a bid to trace the mystery owner.
The stolen items, which include a boxed set of Queen's Silver Jubilee medals, were recovered by police from the home of a suspected burglar on Tuesday.
But detectives have so far been unable to trace the owner, who they believe may not know the items are missing. Other items included in the haul are a set of silver spoons commemorating the Royal wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981 and a commemoration coin marking the liberation of the Falkland Islands.
The total value of the items is believed to be around £100.
Sgt Marc Nasser, of Blackburn Police, said: "We are keen to trace the owner of these stolen valuables as the place they were found is definitely not their rightful home. The owner may be does not even know they have gone since they might not be something in regular use.
"We would appeal for the owner, or anyone who knows who these things may belong to, to contact us here at Blackburn."
Anyone with information should contact Blackburn Police on 01254 51212 or 01254 353613.
