A YOUTH who smashed an etched pub window lost his job after ending up in police custody, a court heard.
Burnley Magistrates were told how Alexander Evans, 18, had thumped the window and was rumbled later when police were called to an altercation and his hand was seen to be injured.
Evans, of North Street, Colne, admitted damage to the window, said to be worth £500 and the case was adjourned until August 13 for an estimate of work on it.
Neil Cronin, defending, said Evans had no recollection of the incident. At the time, he had been employed, but because of what happened he ended up in police custody and had been unable to attend work. He had then lost his job.
