THE picturesque gateway to Rawtenstall Cemetery, is among thousands of listed buildings in Lancashire being photographed this summer.
Dozens of volunteers, mostly members of local camera clubs or The Royal Photographic Society, are photographing listed buildings throughout the region.
By the end of next year the pictures will all be on the Images of England web-site of the National Monuments Record, which is the public archive of English Heritage.
Along with the pictures will be the official list description of each structure. The project is backed by a £3.09million grant from Lottery Fund.
Images of England project manager Victoria Fenner said: "Since the survey started we've had a terrific response from our photographers. Together they are creating a unique millennial photographic record of England's heritage for the future."
