A CHILDREN'S charity is looking for East Lancashire applicants for a massive "dreams come true" giveaway.
Whizz-Kidz has launched its No Limits Millennium Awards which are aimed at young disabled people who have a burning desire to undertake a new activity or experience.
The charity's local representative, Catherine Dean, of Haslingden, said the awards scheme was an opportunity not to be missed.
"We are urging young disabled people in this area to demonstrate their creativity and full potential by taking up this unique opportunity," she said.
"Award winners will be role models for other young disabled people, and will be seen as young achievers, making a significant impact in their local community."
Applications must fit into one of three categories: social and community activities, disability awareness and integration, or active and outdoor pursuits.
No idea is too big or too small but, whatever the idea, the award must benefit the young person and their community.
The awards are open to young disabled people between the ages of 12 and 18 who have a permanent disability affecting their mobility and use a wheelchair or other type of mobility equipment.
There are 90 awards on offer and each winner will have a mentor and financial support up to a maximum of £8,500 for individuals or £10,00 for a group of up to three.
The closing date for application forms is September 11. They are available from Whizz-Kidz, telephone 020 7233 6600.
