POLICE are warning drivers of Citron Saxo cars to be extra vigilant after a spate of thefts from the model.
Detectives say thieves are targeting this particular make of car parked in Blackburn as they are quick and easy to break into.
They are now advising Saxo drivers to be extra careful where they park to avoid the risk of thefts.
Police say more than 20 of the popular cars have been broken into in the last month in all areas of Blackburn.
Detective Sergeant Paul Withers, of Blackburn CID, said: "Car thieves seem to have taken a liking to Citroen Saxos in the last month or so and we are finding a spate of thefts from this model in recent weeks.
"We would advise Saxo drivers to make sure that when they park their vehicle is as secure as possible and is parked in a busy and well lit area, if parked at night. People should also ensure they do not leave valuables on display in the vehicle as this is simply an invitation to thieves to break-in. All valuables should be kept out of sight or removed from the car."
