PROFITS from a fun run organised by Burnley College students is going to charity.
The Cancer Research Campaign is getting a bumper £797 from the College Higher National Diploma sports studies year two who arranged a 10k road race and fun run in March as part of their course work.
More than 150 runners took part in the main event and 100 in the fun run at Towneley Holmes.
The students had a running start as one of them was Mark Brown, 39, of Burnley, an arm amputee who takes part in major international events.
Last year he won a silver medal in the Sydney marathon at the ParaOlympics.
Students' spokesperson Cath O'Sullivan said: "It was part of our assignment to hold this event and it went very well although because of the foot and mouth epidemic we had to transfer the race from part country to all road."
