ON the cricket front, we would obviously have liked to have reached the final of one of the cups. We got knocked out of the inter-league cup in the quarter-finals and then we went out of the Worsley Cup in the semis.
But we have won four out of five games since then and if we keep that going there is a good chance we can finish in the top four.
The side are playing their best cricket of the season at the moment. Every game, the players are all looking forward to it which is good because at this stage of the season you can sometimes just be looking forward to the season ending.
But we are in a good frame of mind and I think we can definitely finish in the top half of the table.
Burnley seem to be going through a transitional phase at the moment, bringing through younger guys and they have a good blend of experience and youth now.
We could definitely do better next season because we have been improving all the time since the beginning of this one.
I have been approached by the club to come back for another season and I would like to but that depends on how good my season is when I go back. If I have a good season and get myself in contention for the national side again I won't need to find a pro position because I will be busy enough.
I have played 20 one-day internationals and, of course, I would like to be in contention again.
I will have to talk the Burnley offer through with my wife Jackie -- who is an international hockey player -- when she comes back from South Africa. She is going out there on Friday to play in a hockey tournament in Johannesburg so I'll be home alone, left to cook and clean and fend for myself, which I am not very good at! At least we don't have any children to look after -- yet.
We have been enjoying the weather out here for the past week, it reminds us of home, although we know Britain well enough now to know it won't last very long! It is winter back home, in Durban, but that can be much nicer than the summers, which can sometimes be too hot.
