BUDDING writers visiting Darwen Library were given a chance at fame.
The one hour session was designed to encourage youngsters to become more enthusiastic about the library as well as alleviating some summer holiday boredom.
The 36 youngsters aged seven to 10 were asked to share their favourite poetry with others by reading it out aloud. After that the children were given the opportunity to write their own poetry to be placed on a website by library staff.
The Library is putting on many events every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the six week break for children. Although they are free, a ticket must be booked because only 36 are available.
Next week's Harry Potter Event is sure to be popular, so those interested should book tickets by calling 01254 706021.
