VIGILANCE is being encouraged to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease on the Fylde coast after blanket bans on public rights of way were revoked.
Disinfectant mats are still in use at Blackpool Zoo and visitors are being asked where they are from.
A council spokesman said that they remained vigilant and were asking people to be careful when visiting the countryside, where dogs should be kept on leads at all times.
