A GOOD Samaritan was knocked to the floor and kicked in the head when he went to the aid of a woman involved in an angry exchange with a man in a Bispham street.
The 21-year-old student was walking by the Conservative Club on Red Bank Road when he saw the heated argument between the couple. He asked the woman if she was all right but the man turned on him and kicked him in the leg before pushing him to the floor and kicking him in the head. The couple then walked away toward the promenade.
Despite a search of the area police were unable to trace the couple. The man was white, aged 30 and 6ft 2ins tall with a broad build. He was clean shaven with very short hair and he spoke with a local accent. He was casually dressed and wore blue shoes or boots.
The woman was of Asian appearance with shoulder length messy hair. She was in her late 20s and 5ft 5ins tall. She wore an orange or red patterned loose-fitting dress.
Police were appealing for people who knew of anyone fitting the couple's description to contact them on 293933.
