YOUNGSTERS in Blackburn and Darwen can have cut-price fun at council pools throughout August.
Executive member for leisure and culture at Blackburn with Darwen Council, Coun Kate Hollern said: "As a result of government funding we are able to introduce a reduced admission cost to youngsters visiting our pools and centres.
"I am sure that parents and carers will welcome this gesture especially as we are in the middle of the school summer break when youngsters visit these venues more that at other time of the year."
The reduction means that youngsters visiting the Waves Centre will pay 95p instead of the usual £1.95, and admission to the Darwen Leisure Centre playscheme will cost just 80p instead of £1.65. The same reductions apply at all other council sports venues and pools.
