THERE was plenty to cheer about for all the local clubs competing in the fourth Mid Lancs meeting at Seedhill -- with host club Pendle AC setting the pace.
For Pendle AC won nine events on the track and field to enjoy a successful day on home soil.
The Park High School Club from Colne enjoyed three wins on the track with Jennifer Tunstill winning the senior ladies 400m in her first race over the distance.
And Louise Dickinson was first in the under 15s 100m and 200m in her first appearance since cracking her arm in a fall in the final of the 200m at the English Schools Championships.
Another local athlete to enjoy that winning feeling was 14-year-old Colne athlete Kieran Turner who won both the 200m and 400m in the under 15s boys grade one standards -- then help his club Wigan Warriors to victory in the 4x100m relay.
Hyndburn AC sent across a strong team which paid off as Thea Smith, Claire Mitchell, Vikki Grime, Neil Tattersall and Chris Fishlock all won their events.
Thea set a personal best to win the under 13s High Jump while Claire was first in the under 15s Javelin -- as was Vicki in the senior event. Also in the seniors, Neil won the 1500m and Chris came first in the 3000m.
