TAYLOR Park may be set for a return to its former glory.
The Heritage Lottery fund has announced that £746,000 has been earmarked for the restoration of the oldest Victorian park in St Helens and St Helens Council will also receive a grant of £64,300 to develop plans for this project.
If the project is successful in receiving a firm grant commitment, it will ultimately go towards the repair and transformation of Taylor Park. This would include the restoration of the carriage drive, entrances and the quarry garden, improvements around the water bodies and repair of the boathouse. An outdoor education centre will also be created in the park's cafe.
