A SUMMER event is taking place in Burnley this weekend - for women only.
The event at Stoneyholme and Daneshouse community centre on Saturday from noon to 4pm is a joint venture between the Al-Nisa youth and community service and women's groups.
All women from across the borough of Burnley are welcome to attend and join in the wide range of activities.
Women and girls of all ages will be give the chance to try their hand at activities including henna hand painting, face painting, karaoke, exercise, baby massage and lots more including live Indian music by popular Blackburn group Sagar Melodies.
There will also be an East meets West bridal makeover illustrating the style and elegance of traditional Asian and English brides.
The Mayoress of Burnley, Mary Alston, will be among those attending.
Fatima Aziz, joint chairperson of Al-Nisa said: "This summer event will give all women from different communities a chance to meet and enjoy themselves in an informal social setting."
Information from a wide range of agencies which provide services to women will be available. Admission is free and creche facilities will be provided.
