PLANS for a house at Salterforth Nurseries and Landscapes, in Moor Lane were put on hold this week when councillors deferred their decision for a site visit.
The proposed detached split-level house would be used by the owner, who currently lives nearby, to provide greater security.
It would be built near the main nursery buildings and polytunnels and would be outside the defined boundary of Salterforth and within open countryside defined in the Pendle Local Plan.
There would be a garage at lower ground floor level and the main part of the house would be at ground floor.
West Craven Committee went against planning officers who recommended refusal on the grounds it was contrary to local policies regarding building in the open countryside.
The outcome of the visit will be reported to the next meeting of the committee in September.
