FIVE pub regulars have teamed up for a marathon walk in aid of a cancer charity.
Ron Morgan, a 25-year-old food operative, and wife Clare, 24, decided to walk the 36-miles from the Brewers Arms, Oswaldtwistle, to Blackpool Pleasure Beach because Clare's mum has recently recovered from cancer.
The couple have been joined by other pub regulars Carol Holden and Michael Whiteside. Carol's teenage son Graham will also do the walk on August 18.
The group will then cycle back to the pub for a disco to celebrate their success.
Clare said: "When people in the pub heard that Rob and I were doing the walk they got right behind us.
"We'll be fit enough to do it, though it's a long haul. But we're not couch potatoes or TV watchers. We enjoy a good walk instead."
A spokesman for the Cancer Research Campaign said: "We rely entirely on the generosity of the public and people like Clare, Robert, Carol, Michael and Graham. We wish them luck on their walk."
