REGARDING my anger and dismay about the replacement of the front doors of Darwen Library (Letters, July 26), I would like to thank the library manager, Catherine Snelling and Councillor Eileen Entwistle, who both contacted me in order to reassure me.
The front doors are not being replaced. The internal doors, which date from the 1960s, are the ones in question. They are also in keeping with the building and are actually being made into automatic doors.
I congratulate those who have planned this and are putting it into operation.
BERYL NEALE, Wordsworth Gardens, Darwen.
