A POLICE investigation is continuing today into how a man, found collapsed outside Leigh Police Station, sustained serious head injuries.
Police say Scott Ireland, 20, of Dakins Road, Leigh, is still unconscious in the Royal Bolton Hospital's intensive care unit, after being found by a passer-by in Mather Lane.
Detectives believe he may have been attacked. It is also possible he had an accident.
Mr Ireland was last seen unharmed at a pizza parlour in Chapel Street at 1.30am on Saturday, July 21. He was discovered unconscious an hour later.
Police say he was not the victim of a robbery.
Anyone with information should contact Leigh CID on 0161 856 7352 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
