ALL eyes will be on the skies tomorrow during the annual Barnoldswick Gala when the Red Arrows will be making a special fly-by over the town.

The world-famous aerobatic team are scheduled to perform at 10.30am as part of the build-up to the gala, which organisers have promised will be even bigger and better this year.

Their breathtaking twists and turns will be visible from all over the town.

Members of the Barnoldswick and Earby Round Table (BERT) have been busy during the past few days, putting the final touches to the gala and selling programmes.

They are confident that they have put together a strong entertainment programme which will appeal to all ages.

This includes the Tony and Amanda Brutus Comedy Strength Spectacular at 2pm and the Halsbands Falconry Display Team at 2.30pm.

Also included are the Motorcycle Trials Display and Competition, Circus Skills Workshop, Wacky Bikes, Football Skills and Penalty Shoot-out, Fresh Am Roadshow and the regular horticultural and majorettes competitions. All the gala field events will begin at 1.30pm in Victory Park after an official opening by the Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle. The gala procession, which will take a different route this year, will set off at 12.30pm from CarrPrint in Calf Hall Road, will travel along Walmsgate, Church Street, Station Road, Wellhouse Road and in to Victory Park.

Road closures will be in place and diversions sign-posted. Organisers have asked residents to be patient and allow a little extra time for their journey.

Nick Kemp, chairman of BERT, said: "Barnoldswick and Earby Round Table organise the Gala to raise money to support local people and organisations in need, as well as providing a great afternoon's entertainment for local people and visitors alike.

"There is a smalll entry fee but we believe the Gala is very good value for money when you consider just what is provided and where the money goes."
