A PRESTON man who underwent a heart transplant a year ago has won a silver medal in the British Transplant Games.
The event, held in Leeds, attracted athletes from across the country, all with one thing in common -- all have had surgical transplants at some point in their lives.
Russell Walton, 29, from New Longton, Preston, was given a new heart in March last year at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. He returned from the games with a silver medal in both the volleyball and shot put events.
