Dear Sir,
During the month of May, the Wigan, Leigh and District Society for the Blind held a house-to-house collection in the borough.
The society would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all the people who so kindly gave their time to distribute and collect the donation envelopes, and everybody in the borough who gave so very generously.
The total raised was £2,016.89, which was a magnificent effort. This will be a welcome boost to our funds and will enable us to continue with our work amongst the 710 Registered Blind People who live in this area.
Gordon W Winnard, society secretary
