A TALENTED teenager from Blackpool is heading for the bright lights of London this week to take part in new documentary series for Children's BBC.
Sophie Dugdale, 13, was selected from more than 5,500 hopefuls to star in the show called DIYTV, which is to be screened in the autumn.
The fly-on-the-wall documentary is set to follow the trials and tribulations , the friendships and fall-outs, as the specially chosen 12 youngsters from around the country are thrown into the world of television and allowed to produce their own show.
They will learn their crafts as presenters, producer, assistant producer, floor manager, director, researcher, camera operator, sound operator, design, make-up and costume designer.
A BBC spokesman said: "Sophie has already shown an obvious talent and creative flair to have been chosen, she will now be able to put this to good practice during the next few training weeks in London.
