ATHERTON Heritage Society resumes after a holiday break with a performance of Lizzie Jones' new piece, Unwilling Soldier.
The group will meet on August 14 at 7.30pm in St Richard's Jubilee Hall to see the third of Lizzie's masterpieces.
Wiganer Lizzie researches characters and re-enacts them, making authentic costumes for her performances.
The society has already seen her Elizabeth 1 and her 17th century civil war gem featuring a Wigan innkeeper who sheltered the Earl of Derby.
The new piece is again set in the English Civil War when a wife follows her husband revealing her thoughts and how she copes with the lifestyle.
