POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car hit a lamp post.
Three passengers in a Renault, including two 18-year-old girls, were injured in the crash in Green Fold Way on Sunday at 9.20pm, and were all admitted to Wigan Infirmary.
Police say the driver fled on foot.
One of the girls suffered head and neck injuries, and the other female passenger broke her leg. Both were cut from the vehicle by firefighters.
The 25-year-old male passenger suffered facial injuries.
Firefighters helped make the area safe as the lamp post was leaning at a dangerous angle.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or knows the whereabouts of the driver, should call police on 0161 8567072.
