I FEEL I must express my feelings about the state of Clarence Lido in Bury.
Why after several years of there being toxic algae present in the water the council suddenly decided to put a fence around the water? The place looks an utter mess.
You can't even sit in a reasonably pleasant environment anymore with the huge metal fence surrounding the water. You can no longer fish or do any form of model boating, you can't even walk the full way around the Lido path because of fences blocking the way.
So I ask myself what exactly are the public meant to use this area for? The Lido in its present state is good for nothing.
It is to my understanding that the connection with the stream on Walker's Field to the Lido water was blocked a few years ago. This used to keep fresh water entering the Lido, maybe if this connection was re-opened it would clear up the water a little.
This area must be improved as the local people here are disgusted with its state.
LEE PINDER,
Bury.
