THE first winner of the recently launched Loyalty Shopping Scheme in Nelson has been announced.
Maud Bancroft, of Brierfield, received her prize of a television from Pendle Council at the Admiral's Market Place.
The scheme, supported by the Nelson electrical shop Gregorys, was launched last month and aims to reward loyal shoppers while encouraging new customers to the indoor market in Leeds Road.
More than 70 people entered the market's first prize draw.
Shoppers at the indoor market will receive a loyalty card on which they have to get 18 stamps from any of the market stalls.
Each purchase will equal a stamp and once the card is complete, shoppers answer a question on the card and leave it with one of the traders.
Winners will be contacted direct and their name will be posted on the market's Loyalty Scheme Board at the Leeds Road entrance of the market.
