THE 27th annual Worsthorne Art and Crafts Fair kicked off in style this weekend with an opening night attracting more than 200 guests and exhibitors on Friday and the event opening to the public on Saturday.
Organisers are hoping more than 3,000 people will have visited the fair at St John's Church by the final day of the event next Sunday, August 12, and that more than £6,000 will have been raised for church funds.
Seventy-two exhibitors from as far as Cumbria and North Wales have supplied an array of goods for sale including pottery, jewellery, embroidery, dried flower pictures, hand-made cards, stained glass mirrors and salt dough figures.
The exhibition in the church this year is entitled 'Smile Please' and includes post cards, photographs, scrap books and posters from groups such as Burnley Camcorder Club, Nelson Camera Club, Altham's Travel Services, the National Railway Museum and Burnley Library.
It shows the development of the camera and also looks back at where people have spent their holidays during the last 100 years.
The fair will open to the public every day, 2pm-8.30pm, with a one-off admission fee of 75p.
