POLICE today launched a series of high profile road checks as part of their clampdown on summer drink driving.
The move is in partnership with Lancashire County Council and other local authority road safety groups and is a bid to stamp out drink driving, which reaches its peak in the summer.
Last year nearly 2,300 people were charged with drink driving offences across the county, with the majority of cases in the summer months.
Under the banner "Together We Can Make the Difference" police are urging drivers to think before they drink as part of a nationwide campaign to stop boozers getting behind the wheel.
