RECENTLY, with the fine weather, I decided to take a short stroll through Sunnyhurst Woods in Darwen, as I had not been in for some time.
But this turned out to be a good walk spoilt by the number of dogs which were running about everywhere, encouraged by their owners. It wasn't pleasurable at all.
Do these owners not know there are notices that state they should keep their dogs on a lead or they will be fined?
I must have passed at least 12 bounding dogs (half of them frightened the life out of me).
At least there was one sensible couple who had their dog on a lead.
Blackburn with Darwen Council should follow up the notices they erect. But will they?
A BAKER (Mr), Blackburn Road, Darwen.
