CATCHES win matches so they say but try telling that to Mark McGovern.
For the youngster took no fewer than four catches -- including a brilliant diving one-handed effort -- but still ended up on the losing side!
Ironically, it was a catch that turned the game in Taverners favour.
Jack Taylor held on to a boundary drive from Nick Barrett which signalled the start of a dramatic Feniscowles collapse.
Taverners batted first and Akhtar 'Botham' Hussain and Mick Cox put on 51 before Hussain was caught by Dominic Southworth off Zed Shah for 30.
Cox went three overs later, caught by the same player off Chris Bodenham, whose tight and accurate bowling deserved more than the one wicket he picked up.
But it didn't upset the apple cart too much for Taverners whose top seven batsmen, with the exception of Dwane Cox, got into their 20s or above.
Anthony Cox appeared to be one of those who was going to get a decent knock but he fell victim to that wonderful McGovern catch when he was on 20.
After Dwane Cox went for 12 in the same over, Taverners could have wobbled.
But Jack Taylor and David Swift put together a quick 59 run partnership before Swift was clean bowled by Barrett. Taylor went in the next over for 37 but Duncan McCormack carried on the fight and top-scored with 38, which included five fours, before falling to the clutches of McGovern off Barrett.
Feniscowles got the worse possible start when Paul Slater was clean bowled off Swift's fifth ball.
Dominic Southworth soon followed in Swift's next over and when McGovern was caught behind by McCormack off Taylor, Feniscowles were struggling on 9-3.
But Surage Swift and Barrett dug in to put the home side back on course as they moved the total along to 65 before Swift was bowled by Shabir Fazel.
However, with the intelligent Barrett still at the crease, Feniscowles were moving steadily along.
But it all went horribly wrong in the 25th over when Antony Cox sprung to live in devastating fashion taking three wickets and added a further two in his next over as Feniscowles crumbled from 72-4 to 79 all out.
